Gary Varnavides is an attorney licensed in New York and California who brings a wealth of experience and dedication to every client relationship.  After graduating from Fordham Law School in 2010, Gary spent a decade at a prominent national law firm in New York City where he was regularly recognized as a New York Super Lawyers Rising Star.  Gary regularly defended broker-dealers and other financial firms in hundreds of FINRA customer arbitrations and regulatory investigations.

Gary has successfully represented clients in high-stakes commercial disputes and regulatory investigations throughout the United States.  After graduating law school in the wake of the 2008 economic crisis, Gary gained significant experience early in his career working on high-profile, complex securities matters, including cases stemming from the Bernard Madoff-Ponzi scheme and numerous other devastating cases of financial fraud.

In 2019, Gary relocated to Los Angeles and was part of the team that opened the first LA office for his prior firm.  In 2020, during the early days of the pandemic, Gary had the opportunity to co-found and launch a healthcare company that offered COVID-testing services to the entertainment industry.  Serving as the company’s president and general counsel, Gary personally negotiated contracts with Netflix, LiveNation, and other corporate clients and oversaw rapid growth and

Gary founded Varnavides Law to provide a more tailored approach for his clients and deliver his relentless advocacy and expertise to a wider client basis.  Gary prides himself on his work ethic and his unwavering commitment to his clients and protecting their interests.  He has a deep appreciation for his clients’ trust in him.

Gary received his law degree from Fordham University School of Law. While at Fordham, he was the Editor-in-Chief of the Fordham Journal of Corporate & Financial Law. He also authored The Flawed State of Broker-Dealer Regulation, which won the IMCA Richard J. Davis Legal/Regulatory/Ethics Award.

Gary obtained his BA from Boston College.  He is actively involved in Boston College alumni matters in Southern California.

Gary is a native New Yorker who now calls Los Angeles home, where he resides with his wife and two daughters.  In his down time, Gary is an avid New York sports fan and recreational runner who recently completed the 2024 New York City Marathon.  Gary ran the NYC Marathon as part of the Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH) “Miles for Miracles” charity team and personally raised more than $10,000 in donations for BCH.
